Programs

The Alternative Program follows the Kanawha County Schools Programs of Study along with Twenty-first Century Learning: Lexia, Success maker, and Credit Recovery computer programs.   

The  program includes basic skills, special  education, life  and learning skills and instruction in responsible behavior. 

Counseling and psychological services are provided, as needed, for all students. 

School Aged Expected Mothers and Daycare is also offered at Chandler Academy and can be reached at 304-348-1128.

What Is PBIS?

     Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) is a proactive approach to establishing the behavioral supports and social culture and needed for all students in a school to achieve social, emotional and academic success.

     Positive behavioral interventions and supports (PBIS) is a way for schools to encourage good behavior. With PBIS, kids learn about behavior, just as they learn other subjects like math or science. The key to PBIS is prevention.
